If the air gauge release valve needle registers within the "DIRTY" marked region, it indicates that the filter is blocked and requires thorough cleaning or backwashing. When within the "CLEAN" marked region, it indicates that the filter is in good condition and requires no cleaning.

The gauge is easy to install and use, simply turn off the pool pump, release the air bleed valve, and rotate to remove the air bleeder assembly and replace with the new one.
